About
My name is Terrence McRae. I was born in Trenton, New Jersey August 31, 1970. In 1978 I relocated from the East Coast to Los Angeles, California. There was a void in my spirit related to growing up in a single parent household which led to a lack of ambition, making poor choices, and being associated with a negative peer group.
These experiences caused my life to veer down a spiral path of destruction which led to me spending 24 years and 7 months incarcerated. During this time, I overcame resentment, anger, and inner personal conflicts related to not having a relationship with my father. While incarcerated, I found peace in Islam and transitioned my unhealthy thought processes and actions to compassion for others and wanting to make a positive difference in society. While incarcerated I was introduced to Defy Ventures. This is when I learned how to convert my street hustle into entrepreneurship.
After my release, my transition back into society was focused on success, building a strong professional network, and reaching my personal goals. Learned business strategies through Defy Ventures led me to entrepreneurship in Media. I am currently a producer of a public access television show called The Close the Deal Show which airs on two local cable networks in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
I have recently created a spin-off from The Close the Deal Show called Close the Deal Network which is a membership platform that gives members access to huge network of business professionals locally and abroad. I am thankful daily for my blessings because without humility, perseverance, and the initiative to succeed, I would not be in the position I am today.
